Reflecting on Another Great Year at the Southampton International Boat Show
We’re reflecting on another fantastic year at the Southampton International Boat Show, and what a week it was. The atmosphere, the conversations, and the sheer passion for life on the water reminded us why this event is such a highlight in the marine calendar.
This year was extra special for us at Marine Hygiene, as we were honoured to be named the winners of the 2025 Environmental and Sustainability Award and to become the first-ever micro-business to receive it. It’s a moment we’re incredibly proud of and one that highlights the impact small, dedicated teams can have when it comes to protecting our seas.
Sustainability in Action
At the show, visitors saw firsthand how our eco-friendly cleaning solutions help keep boats looking their best while safeguarding the oceans we all enjoy. Our live demonstrations of dissolvable sachet refills showed how easy it can be to swap single-use plastics for something more sustainable.
Behind the scenes, we focused on making our presence as low-impact as possible, reducing deliveries, choosing greener travel options, and reusing our exhibition materials. Our team also acted as Sustainability Ambassadors, sparking important conversations with visitors about small changes that can make a big difference at sea.
And our work doesn’t stop when the show ends. We’re continuing to reduce our carbon footprint through Scope 1, 2 and 3 reporting, eco-friendly shipping, product life-cycle analysis, and biodegradable packaging.
Recognition That Means a Lot
Winning the award was a huge honour. As our Director, Neville Snell, said:
“We’re thrilled to receive this recognition at SIBS25. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from the materials we use to the way we engage with visitors. This award reinforces our commitment to reducing waste, taking accountability for our carbon footprint, and inspiring others in the marine industry to adopt more sustainable practices.”
For us, this recognition shows that size is no barrier to driving real change. Even small businesses can make a measurable difference when they care deeply about what they do.
Looking Ahead
We’re heading into the year ahead inspired by what we achieved at SIBS25 and motivated to do even more. Our focus remains on innovating, reducing waste, and helping our customers make the eco-switch to cleaner, more responsible boating.
A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, supported us, or shared their stories at the show. It’s your enthusiasm that keeps us pushing forward.
Marine Hygiene – clean boats, cleaner seas.
