Our business was founded by experts in cleaning, hygiene and safe to use product solutions. This expertise was transferable to our other passion of responsible recreational boating, protecting marine life and the environment.   ​

At Marine Hygiene we are driven by our dedication to offer superior and environmentally friendly products.  We take immense pride every time someone comes to our web site and contributes to saving our rivers and seas.  It means we have done our job correctly.

​Ever since we founded our store in 2020, we had one goal in mind: ensuring a permanent variety of fantastic environmentally friendly products that fit any budget BUT most importantly do what they are supposed to do.

How long have you been in business?

We are a startup business only formed at the end of 2021.

What do you sell?

We sell 100% chemical free as well as eco-friendly cleaning products specifically designed for the boating community.

What makes you different?

We supply only eco-friendly cleaning products. We aim to reduce the use of harmful chemicals that are traditionally used as well as reducing single use plastics. We all know the global challenge around climate change and protecting our planet. Our seas and rivers are vitally important in this and we most do all we can to protect them.

What is in the products and what do they do?

This is all outlined in our packaging but they are as follows, See specific product brief but in summary

Are all your products eco friendly?
  1. Boxes are all FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) sourced boxes. Recyclable
  2. All our cleaning products are wrapped in PVA that dissolve fully in water.
  3. Chemicals as above
  4. Bottles either aluminium most environmentally friendly metals. Don’t use glass as it takes too much fossil fuel to produce and isn’t safe on a boat.
  5. Plastics are rPET (recycled from existing plastic). Removes additional plastic from the globe. Looking to source plastic from plastic recovered from the sea
  6. All glues / adhesives are vegan / eco-friendly / recyclable
Why just boats?

Coming from a boating background and want to protect the environment.  We are only just focusing on boats as it’s our passion. However, safe to use at home.

Do you make money / profit?

We are a small business and we have pledged to make the seas and rivers safer and cleaner. However, today collecting for the RNLI. Our suppliers are chosen for their environmental credentials.  Tree planting etc. Looking to partner with charities focused on the sea and climate defense.

Are you really green?

What is green washing? Green washing is when a company pretends to be green but really isn’t. Products wrapped in single use plastics etc.

Our philosophy is aimed at reducing our impact on the environment making it easy to be greener. This is our first stage and we are a start up but everything we do is based on a better / more efficient carbon footprint.
