Marine Hygiene Celebrates Win At The Southampton International Boat Show Environmental Award 2025

Marine Hygiene is delighted to have been named the winner of the 2025 Exhibitor Environmental and Sustainability Award at the Southampton International Boat Show. The recognition highlights our commitment to supporting the Show’s Environmental Charter as well as the new carbon offsetting scheme introduced this year.

This marks the very first time a micro-business has taken home this award, making it an especially proud moment for us. It reflects our ongoing ethos of providing products that are not only effective but also genuinely environmentally friendly, helping the boating community to make greener choices on the water.

Marine Hygiene stood out to the judges via our comprehensive commitment to sustainability. We are committed to cutting down on deliveries, prioritise car-sharing and public transport, utilise reusable exhibition stands and showcased live demonstrations of dissolvable sachet refills designed to replace single-use plastics. Employees acted as Sustainability Ambassadors, sparking conversations with visitors about the broader environmental effects of plastics and the importance of sustainable choices both at sea and at home.

Outside of the event, Marine Hygiene continue to monitor and lower our carbon emissions through scope 1, 2, and 3 reporting, environmentally friendly shipping methods, life-cycle evaluations of products and the use of biodegradable packaging.
